Instead of my usual Friday Five, I am going to shift gears for this week because it is a rather special day. Today marks the first day I consider myself to be officially self-employed.
It is the most exhilarating-yet-scary feeling. Kinda like sky diving, in the Am I nuts?! feeling but without the fear of dying.
Several blogs I read talk about how they started up their business, it grew to the point where they felt comfortable focusing on it, and then they quit their day job to make their business their first time job.
But not I!
I had to go the altenative, riskier route by quitting my job first, to travel no less, without any set plan afterward and then deciding to not pursue a “real” full-time job last month. (Who am I?) I have to admit, sometimes I wonder if I am nuts relying on a business that is still so new, but I am confident that with time it will grow. Or if not, I guess I will have learned a really good lesson in what not to do!
